I have over 20 years of proven experience coaching individuals, groups, and teams and as a professional coach trainer. The idea of making a difference in the world has been a lifelong quest. Discovering what that means and my place in the order of things has been and continues to be my journey.
I admired my parents. My dad, a self-made man, and corporate leader, valued learning above all else and from as early as I can remember, talked to me about keeping the focus on strengths in people. My mother honored her entrepreneurial drive by creating a highly successful company at a time when women were supposed to stay at home. I began the first 10 years of my professional quest as a staff psychologist in community mental health creating new ways to engage at-risk populations. They taught me so much about the resilience of the human spirit.
After that, I pursued an MBA and joined the small but emerging ranks of women in the 1980’s breaking into the corporate world. I went to Wall Street and began my second career as a project leader and specialist in the development, roll-out, and oversight of a broad range of new financial service technologies. During the market crash of the late 80s, I became the Assistant Deputy Director for New Technologies within the Office of Management Design of the Human Resource Administration of NYC; and was recruited back to banking on Wall Street a year later.
Across 15 years I learned the power potential of teams, not “sweating the small stuff” and the huge impact of appreciating and empowering people. When in 1999 I invested in a workshop by Coach Maria Nemeth entitled “the Energy of Money” and expecting a seminar on fiscal planning for my next career, although I wasn’t yet sure what that was, I discovered the world of coaching and never looked back. Now I bring all the richness of my past experience and learning to coach.
As a coach, what brings you joy?
